Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science is composed of highly competent instructors to impart theories of the study of computers, including both hardware and software design, artificial intelligence and software engineering. It envisions producing proficient graduates in the field of computer science.

Goals

• To provide basic computer science education that produces graduates who are versatile, innovative, entrepreneurial, globally competitive and imbued with high ethical standards and social responsibility;
• To provide students with adequate theoretical foundation to enable them to adapt to rapid changes in technology and to prepare the better ones to pursue advanced studies;
• To produce graduates trained towards a culture of research to enable them to do independent investigations on their own;
• To involve students in community activities that will serve as avenues for applying knowledge in computer science for the benefit of the community; and
• To establish linkages with other institutions for the enrichment of instruction, research and extension services.
