2nd International Conference on Popular Culture and Education at the Hong
Kong Institute of Education last December 7-10, 2011.
The Integrated Performing Arts Guild (IPAG), resident company of the
MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) fires up the country’s
celebration of the Arts Month with a series of events. The Arts Month,
promulgated by Executive Order 683, has been renamed the Philippine
International Arts Festival (PIAF).
The BS Accountancy and BS Business Administration programs of CBAA are
now Level II Re-accredited by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges
and Universities (AACCUP), effective December 1, 2011.

Typhoon Sendong survivors.

of Graduate Studies (SGS) and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for
Research and Extension (OVCRE) partnered with Ecosystems Work for Essential
Benefits, Inc. (ECOWEB) and the Catholic Overseas Development Agency CAFOD
in hosting a forum on “Mainstreaming Flood Disaster
Preparedness” last January 13, 2012.
Iligan City, Philippines – Deadly Sendong (international name:
Washi) hit Northern Mindanao in the cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro
evening of December 16 bringing about 10 hours of heavy downpour that
triggered flash floods in the early dawn of December 17.
Iligan woke up battered in the morning of December 17 after typhoon
Sendong unleashed its overnight fury which destroyed properties, claimed
hundreds of lives, and left widespread devastation.
