Five delegates from the College of Education joined Touchpoint 2010:

International Conference on Technology in Education at Century Park
Hotel,
Manila on March 4-5, 2010. The two-day activity which was hosted by De La
Salle University (Manila), dealt with some of the most recent researches
and innovation on the use of ICT in learning and education as presented
by
professors from the different parts of the globe.
“Why not
start doing research in our college”, asked Dr. Myrna E. Lahoylahoy,
ICoLAR Project Team Leader as she exhaustively explained the rationale
of
Classroom-Based Action Research Project during its launching on March 1,
2010 at Room 307, College of Education.
Dr. Adelfa C. Silor, a faculty from the Department of Professional
Education, College of Education, MSU-IIT delivered her demo-teaching on
“The Importance of Teaching Vocabulary in Reading Comprehension”
during
the National Demofest of the Reading Association of the Philippines(RAP)
affiliate of International Reading Association (IRA) held at CSI Estadia
Dagupan City, Pangasinan last January 21-23, 2010.
IPAG completed eleven performances of 3 productions, all well-attended
in various venues around the country in the first 6 weeks of this Tiger
Year
As the Philippine International Arts Festival teemed with events after
events nationwide, so did IPAG Artistic Director and Professor Steven
Patrick C. Fernandez who went the rounds of the country’s culture and
arts circuits performing, lecturing, conducting workshops, collating
results of a program, and acting as jury.
Another feat marked the history of the Cisco Academy Program of
MSU-IIT
as it officially launched St Peter’s College as a Cisco Local Academy
in
a Graduation Ceremony for “IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software
Trainer’s Training” on February 5, 2010 at the SPC-AVR
Department of Professional Education (DPRE) of the College of Education
(CED) conducted a “Training on Data Management” last February 6, 2010
at CED-ICT Lab.
Students of the Integrated
Developmental School (IDS) reaped eight of the 11 awards.
As one of the highlights of its 25th Anniversary Celebration, the
College of Education (CED) successfully held a Teachers’ Forum on
January
23, 2010 with the theme: Classroom-Based Researches: ICT Integration in
the
Curriculum.
Busy, busy 32nd season ‘enders’ for the opening of the Tiger
Year.
Seven outstanding university-based theatre groups selected from all
over the country highlight the 4th Tanghal National University and
College Festival in Manila for the Philippine International Arts
Festival
(PIAF).
